Being Late 11 Jul 07 I bet you know how long it takes to get in to work in the morning, are you every late? Do you leave later and later? Does your boss glance at his watch when you get in without even looking you in the eye; slowly shaking his head? Do you try and sneak in without anyone noticing and always fail? No, of course you don't, you have a reputation to uphold, you have pension plans and life insurance to think of. You're not the kind of person to risk all that, think of what's at stake, all for the sake of your own little rebellion. It all sounds so teenagerish, so young and futile, so ridiculous, why on earth would you do a thing like that? What posesses people, maybe it's a lack of self control and the inability to uphold simple social structures or maybe it's a chemical imbalance. Whatever the reason don't cast them aside just yet, don't write them off, reach out to these people who have yet to gain your level of contentment. For you have your own pleasures, things they wouldn't yet understand, things maybe they'll never understand. You've reached that level, with no willingness to return where you came from, why should you; you've acheived. Treat yourself, give yourself a moment to think, but before you go too far you'll have to stop yourself from having too much fun.
